Electricity runs from the battery into the spring and metal connections into the bulb, the element heats up with the charge making it glow, the Lens and reflective cone emits out a beam, the switch connects or breaks the circuit.

Electrical energy from the battery heats up a coil of wire in the bulb to white heat, producing light. This light is gathered and directed by the reflector to form a beam.

Well Its quite complicated. Most people say its just a simply switch, but its not. Energy particles move through the wire and reject the electrons from the battery/cells. This allows the knit (acts a bit like a motor) to switch on and off. The small radiations get sent from the knit to the bulb which makes it light up.

See-when the switch is turned on,the metal endings touch the wire below it. The wire allows the flow of current and produces heat and light energy.hen this happens -the filament glows and so the torch works.
