Give this some thought before you automatically dismiss it -- FIRECRACKERS. Firecrackers were the forerunners of explosives: No explosives, no bombs, no ammunition, less killing. War would still be done with knives and swords and arrows which would ultimately be less death. Certainly no weapons of mass destruction (such as nuclear weapons) would be involved in war. The threats and fear involved with WMD's would not be present and would give the world and it's occupants a much more stable and peaceful place to live. If the Chinese had never invented firecrackers, what a peaceful place this earth would be, or at least, less deadly.
