Difference is that
in MICROWAVE cooking it is volume cooking .that the whole mass gets cooked up uniformly and at the same time
while in INFRARED the cooking is surfaces cooking.the outer surfaces gets heated up first and then inner sufaces this may lead to damage of the food item.
Microwave work at a particular frequency and so they penetrate the whole food item once and for all
so it gets up cooked equally
