hydrogen have one electron in this shell
helium have 2electrons in this shell
let the no. Of shells be n
No. Of electrons = 2n2
here take example of shell no. 3
no. Of electrons in this shell = 2 (3)2
= 2 * 9
= 18

All atoms have 2 electrons in the first shell except hydrogen

but as hydrogen has only 1 electron it has 1 electron in its outermost cell
