As a general rule 1 cup of water to 3 tbsp of salt should float any egg

I don't know but the guy that said you really don't need salt at all that's not right because if you say that then the egg will sink at the bottom of the sea if you put the amount of salt that'll let the egg surface to the air then that's the answer to the question. :-D
