Edmond Locard is the grandfather of modern day Traceology, he was well known as the Sherlock Holmes of France. He formulated the basic principle of Forensic Science still used today, you may of heard the saying "Every contact leaves a Trace." Locard proved to the police during that time that a suspect can be linked to a crime by leaving traces of himself behind... Things such as hair, fingerprints, skin tissue, blood, and fibres. This became known as Locard's Exchange Principle, and is still used to this day by Forensic Scientists all over the world.
