Yes. Lemon juice can be used as a mold growth preservative on home made bread. I tried several times baking bread using lemon juice and I realised that molds took a longer time to grow compared to bread baked without lemon juice.
It hasnt been known to but to make bread mold faster... You get white bread with no propionates..put ten drops of water on bread and put in a ziploc bag near a warm dark moist place
