Its a Chemical change. And just because the outside of the fruit changes, does not make it a Physical. The Chemical reactions of the fruit ripping change the shape, color, taste, texture, and smell of the fruit. For instance, you have a green Banana. Obviously it is not rip. The chemical reaction has not yet occurred. When it does, it changes from green to yellow, bitter to sweet, and so one.

I agree with you Erika. Chemical change is a change of texture,color,taste and shape. But if the situation said that it is just chopped into pieces it is Physical change.
