Lyda Newman invented the hairbrush because in her time, slavery was taking place. So, they didn't much clothing, or anything else to keep them in good care. Lyda wanted to find a way to make the slaves hair out of their face so they are able to work easier without their hair getting in their face. Lyda's hairbrush invention is now used all over the world today. Hair may seem like something not as important as other things like food, but keeping hair out of your face and always soft is also important. Thanks to Madam C.J Walker, we also have hair products such as shampoo and conditioner. Without these two people to invent these wonderful inventions, we would be going to school, work, or any other places looking like a mess!
