Chyme is a medical word used to describe partially digested food that is forced into the small intestine for further digestion. It is half liquid and half solid mass, and does not resemble actual food. When food goes into the stomach, the stomach emits fluids to help break down and digest the foods. When the food is only partially digested and passed through the small intestine, it is called chyme. It is usually known as the left over reminients of food that the body no longer needs or could use. Chyme is eventually passed into the large intestine and then is secreted from the body.

Chyme, is the liquid substance found in the stomach before passing through the pyloric value and entering the duodenum of the body. It is made from the mechanical and chemical breakdown of a bolus and consists of partially digested food, water, hydrochloric acid, and digestive enzymes. Chyme passes through the pyloric sphincter and into the duodenum very slowly, where the extraction of nutrients begins. Depending on the quantity and contents of the meal, the stomach will digest the food into chyme anywhere between 50 minutes and a few hours. Each person is different, so the time it takes chyme to formulate will be different.
Chyme can cause a person to become sick and need medical attention if it is not eliminated from the body. Chyme is usually excreted in stool. Therefore, if the patient is not able to eliminate the stool from their system, they will become ill and require the advice of a medical expert.

Food which we eat is digested partly in the stomach and is converted in to a semi fluid called Chyme. This chyme is pushed to small intestine through duodenum. For more details, visit Chyme.
