Oh well I am a student of software engineering I think it is more better field than computer sciences and information technology...... It is a growing field in Pakistan.... Now a days software engineers are highly paid in all over the world..... And make sure your degree must be recognized by PEC( Pakistan engineering council)... With out PEC your BS degree is not more than a short diploma.I am telling you this because many institutes in PAkistan are not recognised by PEC.GOOD LUCK for your career......
Software Engineering has a better scope in Any department of the world because they design and develop any kind of software and every one that now a days computer software are very much important for runing computer. In software Engineering they teach you the development of software as well as the trouble shooter of the computer softwares. If you search the jobs for Software Engineers then there are a lot of job in Gov. But the problem is there are very limited Software engineers in our Great PAKISTAN and they have a great and they've secure future for any country of the world but rememeber Software Engineering is a little bit Difficult then the Computer sciences and IT because there are advance languages in it. Actually both these fields have their own significance. Computer Sciences has more to do with front end and Software engineering at the back end. They both have their own demand factors. I you would suggest you to do what you are best at and what you have aptitude for. If you are good at Computer languages etc, then take Computer Sciences whereas if you are good with tools and techniques then do software engineering. However, in my personal opinion Software engineering is a better career as compared to computer sciences. It has more job scope.
Being the student of software engineering it is the reality that the software engineering is the future of the pakistan because now a days every industry uses many softwares to manages their work, and also the main stock exchange which shows and mangage the records.. Similarly our greate army uses many softwares for their work. So I think software engineeing is the future of the PAKISTAN, So I suggest you to come in this field and serves for this nation.
I am not very clear about what you mean by scopes. But here is stuff I know. In a school project, I read that Pakistan is a developing country in the fields of computers and telecommunication, so I am sure getting a job as a software engineer would not be difficult. As you mention Computer Sciences, much things are not offered. Many people after doing MSc in Comp S opt for teaching (as it is the only option available in your country for Computer Sciences if you are female) If you are not, then you can get jobs in small firms, banks, marketing, advertising but only on a small scale because a Master in Comp S only knows what is on the screen and hardware and only the upfront software. However if by some luck you manage to get a degree then perhaps you can go further and accomplish your career in Comp S. By getting good jobs on a higher pay scale. If you act on my advice, study Comp S initially, then go for IT, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Data Processing, Data Managing, System Analyst etc. I for myself would go for either Software Engineering or System Analyst. I am a software engineer and according to my point of view scope of software engineer is very high related to other engineering fields but you have to be expert in your field
I am student of international Islamic university Islamabad and doing SE .Scope of software egg in Pakistan is not limited .Because now a days every one using computer and it run with the help of operating systems . Operating system are build by SE department.every office like nadra, Pia ,PTA,etc using multiple software .There are many competition beat software house .I feel proud I select that field.
I am currently working as an internee in software house in lhr ... What I have observed is that developers meaning computer scientists r highly paid q/a or software engineers get paid too but they constantly need to prove that they r worth staying in that particular company or corporation whatever... There is certainly a lot of scope of s/w engineering in Pakistan but yet has to go a long way ... If you want to find a shortcut to earning gr8 sums computer sciences is the way... But let me remind you developer's half part is an engineer... Without engineer developer is nothing ... I myself has an interest in s/w engineering I hope to accomplish this goal as soon as possible wish me luck ..cheers
I am a gal ... And I am really confused as what to choose as my career... I do think that software engineering is good but I am more interested in hardware... Now when I searched for computer hardware engineering ;.... It came under mechanical... Which I am not interested in .... So software is the only option left for me... Guys tell me... . Do we need to pass an exam to get jobs abroad.....??
Yes I think software engineering is better but for that you have to go abroad(UK or USA).Because in pakistan software engineering jobs are very less.And it is very hard to get job in Pakistan.I am also a software engineer and I am working in UK. Applied in 26 software houses of pakistan but hardly I was called by just one house.So I suggest you to go abroad like uk because USA prefers indians the most not pakistanis.And american company Microsoft's agents come here to give jobs.So you will easily get job in the world's biggest company MICROSOFT. It has a better future but currently its very difficult for Software Engineers (who have completed the engineering recently) to get a desired salary and permanent job. If you are getting admission in any University (Engineering) now in 2010-2011 you may get a better chance for there might be many opportunities for you in the upcoming years. Because Pakistan still needs a lot of progress to be achieve in this field.

I think that scope of computer engineering is very limited in pakistan because other technologies can also come in this field.In result its scope becoms limited. Now should I join computer engineering in pakistan?
For any field their is no scope if the person in that field is a loser.So I think their is a scope of professionals not the fields and as far as software is concerned for kids I would say go with it if you can study very good in the field of Physics and Maths and make some contribution to new advancements of future. This is for sure that the decedents of humans will have soul on the name of Software.
A-o-A Here In Pakistan there iz no Scope of BSCS=Computer Sc. Or BESE=Software Eng. Just do it if you r intrested in BSCS so do it If you r intrested in BESE so do it but don't try to apply in pakistan.... There is nthing go UK...USA...KSA in pakistan you can get money if you have the degree MC=Master of Corruption...!!
In my point of view there is no scope of any computer related field in pakistan....but if want to choose from these two then I suggest you to do computer science....
A-o-a, boys I,m a software eng in pakistan,but according to me in future their is less scope of software eng as compare to "ece"(electrical computer eng)...b/c no# of soft...eng are groing rapidly...so according to me you should choose ece in which it has great toch with electrical boys...allah hafiz...

I suggest you to go for computer engineering rather than cs or se becoz in comp engg you r not only going to learn softwares but also hardware n networks.....
