The national culture variables as highlighted by Hofstede, Dutch management researcher are as follows:

Firstly, national culture can be either individualistic or collectivist, therefore, first variable is the individualism or collectivism. Second, national culture variable is the gender variable because some societies have masculine culture and some feminine culture. Third variable is the power distance, as nations can be categorized on the basis of high power distance and low power distance. The fourth national cultural variable is the uncertainty avoidance. Nations can be categorized on the basis of strong or weak uncertainty avoidance.  Fourth national culture variable is the confucian work dynamism. Context culture is also considered an important national culture variable. Moreover, Immediacy and expressiveness is another important national culture variable.
