Nucleoid and Pilus are present in Bacterias. Both of them are very important for bacterias. Nucleoid is the area in the cytoplasm where the strands of DNA are present. Bacterias have prokaryotic cells therefore, the nucleoids are without any membrane bounded structure. In this way, nucleoid plays an important role in the replication of DNA and providing its a safety it the cell.

Moreover, it is not necessary that all bacterias will have pili because there are some species of bacteria which have pilus in them. These are hairlike structures in the surface of the bacteria. The function of pilus is to provide a support to bacteria to get attach with other cells and the surface areas. Furthermore, in the absence of pilus the infected bacterias are unable to attach with the hosts. During the process of conjugation of bacteria, pilus are used to attach themselves with other bacterias.

The nucleiod is not separated from the cytoplasm by a nuclear membrane. It has singular circular chromosome of DNA.DNA stores specific information about the characteristics of an organism. Most cells have only one copy of chromosome. Before cell division, the chromosome will duplicate, the copies are distributed to progeny and separated by the formation of Septum (cross wall). The size of chromosome varies according to species.Additional genetic information may be found on plasmids in many bacteria.
