New Zealand is a country located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean and is broadly divided into two large islands; the North Island and the south Island. There are some smaller islands also and the notable among them are the Stewart Island and the Chatham Island.

The population of the country is 4,116,900 and its area is 268,680 square kilometers. The capital of New Zealand is Wellington but the largest city is Auckland which keeps almost a quarter of the country's population.

New Zealand is quite popular with the name of 'the Land of the Long White Cloud' and together with Hawaii and Rapa Nui, anthropologists call it the Triangle of Polynesia. One of the notable features of this country is its geographical isolation. It is separated from Australia in the North West by Tasman Sea and the separation is about 2000 kilometres. The closest neighbours of this country in the north are Fiji, New Caledonia and Tonga.

G'day, thank you for your question. New Zealand is near the bottom of the world. It's very close to Antarctica.
