The idea and the concept of perfume, for the first time was introduced in the form of incense. This form of perfume was discovered almost 4000 years ago by Mesopotamians. It is considered a discovery rather than invention. The word perfume is of Latin origin and its meaning is "through smoke". Egyptians are considered as the first inventors of perfume as a product which dates back to 1000 BC.
