Yes, person can survive without pituitary gland but life will be miserable because pituitary gland is also called master gland and secretes more than 40 hormones few directly affect the target organs and remaining stimulate other glands to secrete their hormones. The patient have to take many hormones replacement therapies after pituitary gland.
