Yes, but not for very long.
Does it affect your body giving blood?
Yes it can. As a blood donor myself, I can tell you it has some short term effects. You can feel dizzy, tired, weak, sleepy..you might even feel like you have to throw up but nothing serious...these effects don't last more than an hour.
