Simply speaking, to open it from a command window, type ‘start inetmgr’ and press enter. To open it from the start menu, do the following: From the Start menu, click Programs or All Programs and point to Administrative Tools. If the Administrative Tools menu item is not available, see the procedure later in this topic titled "To add the Administrative Tools to the Start menu." For IIS 6.0, click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, and for IIS 5.1 and IIS 5.0, click Internet Information Services; for IIS 4.0 click Internet Information Server. To configure IIS from the Computer Management window, do the following: From the Start menu, click Programs or All Programs, and point to Administrative Tools. If the Administrative Tools menu item is not available, see the procedure later in this topic titled "To add the Administrative Tools to the Start menu” and click Computer Management. For IIS 5.0 and earlier this application is not available, so expand the Services and Applications node and click Internet Information Services. The names and states of the sites on the local IIS server will appear in the details pane. The Computer Management application can only manage the local IIS server. Finally, to start IIS Manager from the Administrative Services console, do the following: On the Start menu, click All Programs, click Accessories and then click Run; in the Run text box, type control panel and then click OK. In the Control Panel window, click Classic View and then double-click Administrative Tools. In the Administrative Tools window double-click Internet Information Services.
