There aren't any biological repercussions when someone abstains from sex - monks go a lifetime without sex, as do (some) religious leaders.

Our bodies are built to cope with having or not having sex, so if we go for a certain time without a sexual partner, nothing will change and we can carry on months and years in the future when the time is right.

There are many people who don't have sex - some choose not to until they have married, some people are paraplegic or maybe it is down to religious beliefs.

However, there are some benefits from having sex, these include:

  • Reduced Risk of Heart Problems
  • Overall fitness and weight loss
  • Reduction of depression
  • Pain relief
  • Better sense of smell!

The interesting thing is that apparently there is no such thing as too much sex for women, but too much can be bad for men as they can damage the erectile tissue.

Yet another reason why women are better than men :-)
