Easiest thing to do here is convert both fractions to decimals and add the decimals together.

4/5 = 0.8.

1/8 = 0.125.

0.8 + 0.125 = 0.925.

Better to stay in fractions and get a common denominator to operate with.

40 is the lowest here. ( sometimes just multiplying denominators together gets you going )

Convert fractions to same denominator by form of one.

8*4/8*5 + 5*1/5*8

32/40 + 5/40

= 37/40
