Heart is basically a muscular organ that is present in all vertebrates. It is one of the basic organs in every living being.
The functions of heart are as follows:
- It received de-oxygenated blood from the body tissues.
- It pumps the de-oxygenated blood under high pressure to the lungs.
- It also receives oxygenated blood from the lungs.
- It passes the oxygenated blood to aorta from where it reaches the whole body.
