Organs located underneath the ribcage includes the heart, left lung, stomach and the spleen and organs which are located below the ribcage includes the left kidney, parts of the jejunum, parts of the ileum, descending colon, sigmoid colon, the left side of the bladder and the left parts of the reproductive organs, such as the left testicle.
The heart is a myogenic muscular organ, roughly the size of a human's fist and it is located underneath the sternum. The heart's main function is pump blood around the circulatory system, via blood vessels, by contracting and relaxing the muscles in the heart. The lungs are located in the thoracic cavity with one lung being underneath the ribcage on the left hand side and one on the right hand side. The lungs main function is to absorb oxygen from the atmosphere into the bloodstream, so that blood can be oxygenated, and to release carbon dioxide, made from the cells respiring, back into the atmosphere. The stomach is located below the sternum and it is part of the digestive system. The stomach releases strong acids and enzymes to absorb protein from the food, and it also churns the food into small pieces so that it can be absorbed easier further down the digestive system. The spleen is located below the stomach and it is the biggest lymphatic tissue and the biggest lymph node in the body. It's main function is to filter red blood cells from the bloodstream to clean them of bacteria and worn out red blood cells, while turning the remains into bile, and the spleen holds extra blood in case of hemorrhagic shock.

The kidneys are part of the urinal system, and their function is to maintain blood pressure, remove waste from the blood such as urea and reabsorbing water, glucose and amino acids from further down the urinal system. The kidney is also responsible from excreting some of the body's hormones, such as renin. The jejunum is part of the small intestine and it is located in the middle of it. The jejunum releases acids between the pH of 7 to 9 to digest food. The ileum is part of the small intestine and it is located at the end of the small intestine. The ileum releases acids with the same pH levels as the jejunum and it's main function is to absorb vitamin B12 and food that hasn't been absorbed by the previous parts of the digestive system. The descending colon and sigmoid colon are parts of the colon, which is the final part of the digestive system and their main function is to absorb water and salt. The bladder is where urine is held before being released by urinating, and the reproductive organs are used for reproduction.
