I'd rather that they gave the money to me but, to each his own. I guess they are giving to something that they are passionate about.
What do you think about Stephen Hawkins and the Russian billionaire dedicating all that $$$ into research of alien life forms?
Better than hiding the money in a mattress or an old sock. They will be creating jobs for the search and buying some equipment, which keeps the money flowing.
