I think that the majority of Earth citizens will embrace the discovery of alien life, not deny it. We've been searching for it forever. Those that do deny it, probably will do so due to their narrow minded religious beliefs.
If the research of alien life is positive (Stephen Hawkins and the Russian billionaire) will people in general deny the results due to fear or due to their religious beliefs?
I'm not sure that religion really enters into it.
There is a bit in Genesis that says that God created man in his own image.
If any aliens exist anywhere else in the universe, presumably they look like us. Otherwise they are in deep trouble.
Of course in reality, they will probably have invented their own gods, in much the same way that humankind has.
Believe what you want to believe.
Some people already deny proven facts because it doesn't fit in with their beliefs, why would they be any different with the discovery of alien life? I think that the majority of people would accept it, but there's always a few who won't.
Anyone can be scammed. Even Mr. Hawkin and this Russian fellow.
People are always afraid of what they don't know nor understand so therefor will deny if aliens exist or not until they can absolutely see or experience one. Kinda strange since so many believe in God when no one has actually seen or experienced him and a lot depends on who is asking and how they ask the general public
People would not beleive it if one walked up and sat down next to them. When you walk on a sidewalk, do you look down to make sure your not stepping on an ant? Here way before you. Learn to live together.Let your differences make you strong.
Not if they follow us back home and kill us.
