A subatomic particle is known as the particle that is smaller than an atom; it can either be elementary or composite. The study of these particles is done in the field of nuclear physics and particle physics. These atomic particles also include protons, neutrons and electrons. Protons and neutrons are made up of composite particles which are made up of quarks. These sub atomic particles also includes other various particles which contain protons and neutrinos, which in turn are produced by copiously in the sun.

However most of these particles that are discovered or studied are not under normal earth conditions. There are dozens of different types of subatomic particles. The study of the electrochemistry was led by G. Johnstone Stoney who postulates the existence of electron in the year 1874 as the constituent of the atom.
