I recently bought a bigger gun to defend myself and family from folks who think my life / family's life is worthless.

I'm allied with the "BLM" movement. Uh, here's a lot of info on why I stand by that. There's a "too long; didn't read" at the bottom.

"Being 'privileged' doesn't mean not having problems, it means not having problems because of your race." Black lives matter= blacks lives matter too. All lives matter. But whites aren't being oppressed because of race. Maybe there was the odd situation, but thousands aren't being killed because of their race.

Yeah, there's the people who pull the race card for things not related to race at all, and that makes this movement seem like it's just a bunch of horrible whining.  But it's very easy to draw the line between "pulling the race card" unnecessarily and getting killed/arrested/etc with race behind it.

It feels unfair to be grouped in with people who did things you didn't do/support, but if you didn't do it, know that it's not directed at you personally.

Ending the race war is important. Not recognizing someone for their race and respecting it isn't helping. But it's wrong to judge someone off their race.

TL;DR: Black lives matter too. Whites aren't getting killed because of their race, except maybe the odd situation. Some people pull the race card unnecessarily, but there's a line between that and getting assaulted for your race. All races matter.

that's it...we shouldn't be treated differently bc of our race/culture by "normal people", let alone the government. Speaking for myself, I want our different cultures to be recognized, but not to be treated as anything other than human.

Government should be blind as far as ethnicity, culture, religion, gender identity. I only grudgingly want gov't to recognize differences due to handicaps - and only to the point of ensuring adequate access to facilities/services.

I live and preach a respectful, peaceful life. I treat everyone as I want to be treated. I have raised my children without prejudice and hate, and taught them to love and respect all life. I can't make a huge difference out in the world, but I CAN make a difference in my home and my surroundings. I just do the right thing no matter what.
