I love the rain
I love sitting on my front porch and watching a good thunder storm. The more thunder and lightening, the better.
No. Absolutely none. I rather enjoy bad weather. I'm such a bad mother on this! :D
Several years ago, our company dismissed us to go in the basement garage as there was a tornado sighted. It was at the end of the day; so my boss and I just left - we didn't go hang out in the basement.
I drove to my son's school which was about five minutes away. With rain and sleet and buffeting winds pummeled all around me, I sat in the parking lot at the school, reading a book and waiting for the school to dismiss the students.
As a result, my son has no fear either. He just shrugs it off. If we are at our respective jobs, we follow their guidelines and troop down to a basement area or other "safe" area. I know my casual attitude will catch up to me one day - but the weather is something that I cannot control.
I'd rather just watch the lightning and wind during a storm than to be hiding and cowering in a corner.
Just to be clear, I'm aware of my casual attitude toward storms and I do know that bad things happen. And I am in no way poking fun of those that do get scared. I just choose not to be afraid of something that is out of my control and will happen with or without my consent.
Yes, always carry blankets, candles, water and a bit of food in the car, just in case of getting stuck in sudden blizzard. Thunder and lightning, no. I love to watch nature paint the skies with sheets of lightning.
I'm not but my Hound hates thunder ! But I'm not worried as we haven't had any harsh weather for about five years now ! About a month of rain, snow and storms would be great ! I won't be afraid, I'll be dancing in the rain !
The only thing to fear is fear itself.
I used not to be. But now I live in tornado alley and I'm afraid of tornadoes.
Define "bad weather". I live where we get afternoon thunderstorms where 2-4 inches of rain in an hour or two is not uncommon. I have also lived places where that much rain in a day can trigger floods. Storms like that don't bother me. I actually like watching them. Especially if they come in from over the ocean.
Hurricanes and tornadoes stress me out. I have been through maybe a half dozen hurricanes. If they come and go I am good, but if they stall and sit for a few days it can be very wearing on the nerves. I just want it to go so i can start the clean up process. I haven't been in a tornado, but one hit my mom's neighborhood. Thankfully it "bounced" over her block.
