There's a cell, and in some cells there is a nucleus. The nucleus isn't all that big: It's only purpose is to hold the DNA and protect it, so there's nothing else in the nucleus, unless the cell is producing mRNA, which is a copy of a portion of DNA genes. There are some cells that don't have a nucleus; their DNA just floats about in the center of the cell.
