The ten main cities of Michigan are Detroit, Grand Rapids, Warren, Sterling Heights, Flint, Lansing, Ann Arbor, Livonia, Clinton Township and Dearborn. Michigan basically is the Midwestern state of United States, situated in the east north central section of America.

Michigan gets its name after Lake Michigan, and Michigan is the only bi-peninsular state. According to the census conducted in the year 2000 the total population of this region was 9,938,444, with an average density of 67.55 per square kilometre.

The census report of 2000 also stated the total area of this region was 253,793 square kilometres out of which 41.5% was covered by water. The capital of Michigan is Lansing and its biggest city is Detroit. The current Governor of Michigan is Jennifer Granholm.

Metro Detroit, Grand Rapids, Flint, Lansing, Ann Arbor, and the tri-cities (Saginaw/Bay City/Midland area). Note Metro Detroit consist of suburban towns with large populations such as Warren, Livonia,Southfield, and Sterling Hgts to mention a few. I listed independent cities not in the Metro Detroit area.
