Uses for Lead Oxide

The red form of lead oxide is used in the manufacture of batteries (especially care batteries), glass (as in 'lead glass', ceramics, vulcanized rubber, in primers for ferrous metal, rust-resistant paint and by the chemical industry as an oxidizer. Yellow lead oxide can be used in batteries plates, long-life heavy duty batteries, power cables and, as with red, ceramics.
