After a Rotator cuff surgery of the bicep Tendon, the patient is usually discharged on the 2nd or 3rd day after the surgery. It might take a little longer then that if the patient's incision is not dry. In case of an AC joint surgery, recovery can take some time. You need to stick to the therapy program and be patient. The screw that has been used a fixation for your joints will be removed after 6 to 8 weeks from the initial surgery day.

At first the therapy treatment will focus on controlling the pain and swelling. Motion exercise will only start after 4 weeks. You can do some passive exercise at home. Active therapy starts only after 6 to 8 weeks after surgery which will help you regain shoulder movement. After about 3 months, you will start active strengthening exercise which will focus on improving strength and control.

In case of the rotator cuff surgery, during recovery or rehabilitation, the therapy program is such that helps your shoulder recover through regular motion exercises. Motion exercise will start right after the surgery. During the hospitalization, the pat patient learns a simple rehabilitation program. This helps to maintain the range of motion at home after discharged.
