Well it's and igneous rock so it is formed from molten or liquefied rock. It has a coarse grained texture meaning it cooled slowly on the outside of the earth. The crystals had a long time to form so that is why it is rough

Wow your dumb... Your correct about it being extrusive, but the rocks cools quickly on the surface, not slowly. So it would be aphanitic, which means the crystals would be small, not large. The crystals did not have a long time to form because it cooled to quickly and even if the crystals had a long time to form it would not make any difference to whether it was rough or not... Your just dumb all around.
