Basalt
They are rocks made from magma and some are: Pumice, chromite, obsidian, granite, ores and basalt, but there are loads more;these are just some
Andesite
Pumice,granite
When a candle burns, the melted wax trickles down and becomes solid again as it cools. Igneous rocks are formed in the same way from melted rocks. Deep down in the earth, it is so hot that rocks melt. Melted rocks are called magma. Magma keeps getting pushed to the surface of the earth by the pressure inside the earth. Here it cools to form solid rock again. This is called igneous rock.
Sometimes, the magma cools slowly and becomes solid below the surface of earth. At other times it is thrown out to the surface where it cools quickly. This happens in a volcano. The magma that reached thrown out to the earth is called Lava. There are many types of igneous rocks. They have different minerals and different structures depending in how and where they are formed.
Basalt is an igneous rock formed by Lava cooling on the earth's surface. It is dense and dark and has fine grain. Granite is formed when magna cools below the surface of the earth. It has larger grains than basalt and is generally light colored. It contains three mineral; pink colored feldspar, grey colored quartz and black shiny mica.
