Yea it does. I just did a lab in bio on this... Sunlight and even artificial lights in your house increase the rate that foods go bad. Especially liquids like milk. That's why they are kept in the really thick plastic containers- so not as much light can get in. Check out this website for some more info...

Light helps bacteria grow. Light is very important for many organisms that spoil food. Bacteria being one of them.

Yes it causes oxidation in the food causing the foods color to change or fade out while this happens the fats become rancid.
