You can use the word chemistry in three main ways. It can mean 1) the study of the elements (basic substances) their compounds and reactions; 2) the chemical composition of a particular substance; or 3) , more idiomatically, an attraction (usually) or other strong reaction between two people.

Examples could be:

1) Studying chemistry teaches us more about the properties of the physical world, its composition and reactions.

2) Determining the exact chemistry of a substance is a highly specialised task.

3) The chemistry between them was very strong - they found each other irresistibly attractive.

The first meaning, of chemistry as a branch of scientific study, is by far the most common of the three.
