It all depends on what size the glass is as you can get all different shapes and sizes of glasses so it difficult to tell you the exact amount of ounces in your specific glass. However, in a standard glass of water there is usually either 4, 8 or 10 oz. These are the standard sizes.

  • Health authority guidelines
When health authorities say that you need to drink 8 glasses of water a day they mean the 8 ounce glasses of water which gives you a total of 64 ounces of water in total.

The best way to measure is to fill your glass up and then pour it into a measuring jug. These usually fl oz on there which is fluid ounces so go by those measurements and you will know exactly how much water in ounces is in you glass.

You are meant to drink 8 glasses of water a day or a total of 2 liters, But, this has be argued recently as health professionals have said that the amount of water each person needs it not necessarily 8 glasses, it depends on height, age, weight, and how active your lifestyle is. So, to give a guideline of 8 glasses is not necessarily accurate.

  • Further information
If you want to seek professional advice on healthy eating and diet then your doctor should be able to gt you referred to a dietician who will be able to advise you based on you rather then a generic guideline.

Most water glasses hold 8 oz. Some hold only 6 oz, but others as much as 16 oz.  A dainty tea cup from which I drink tea holds 6 oz, while the mug from which my husband drinks tea holds 12 oz.

Difficult to say. There must be a standard by which to judge.  I will try to find it and return.
