Bulllying affects everyone it comes near. It affects the victim, the spectators, and the Bully themself. Bullies are really cowards inside. They try to prove they are fearless by picking on the ones they can. When confronted by a truly courageous person, one who will stand up for themself, they usually back off. People who see this and do nothing, feel guilty and learn that life is not fair. My son was a victim of bullies when he was the smallest kid in the class. He was considered a goody goody, and a church-boy. Since the school would do nothing, I put him in Karate. The next year when the 2 big bullies came to call, He set them on their butts, in a nonviolent way. It happened so fast that both bullies were surprised and embarassed. They never bothered him again, and word got around to leave him alone. My son learned from this, and so did the spectators. My son is now 6' 2" tall. He is in the Army, getting hazardous duty pay for being a paratrooper. He is also in College, he started in ROTC, now they are paying for his College, when he graduates, he will be an officer in the Army. He is Very Well respected, and was considered a leader since High School, when he stood up for himself....*p
