Well most plants get energy from the sun, or like in the case of a venus flytrap, they get energy from insects they "eat". Humans and animals get engery from the foods they eat.
Plants normally use sun , to use photosynthesis and create glucose for themselves , and us humans / animals , eat things , to gain energy
