Microscopes help scientists study cells and many important things, but a very important reason is because microscopes help study bacteria or viruses, and help find possible cures for a sickness or bacteria. Without our dear friend, the microscope, any kind of sickness would/might eventually kill you because you would not have the proper medicine or treatment to fight and counteract the bacteria, virus, etc.

Well I too was asking his question...
The impact the microscope has made is in our medical research, without microscopes we wouldnt be about to detect microscopic diseases, learn about cells, or even ever be able to know how things look beyond the human eye.
Hope this answer helps you =)
