Electricity has had an enormous impact on society, considering how much we have come to depend on it. Nearly everything Americans hold dear is made possible by electricity-to think of life without it is mind-boggling. While I think we have developed a kind of over-dependency, there is no getting around the fact that it has molded the course of human civilization-both for the good and for the better.

Electricity gives us what we have today. Most jobs use electric powered equipment. Also, entertainment such as television, radio, cameras, and other things that are part of our lifestyle.

Over all I think that electricity definitely had one of the biggest impacts on society of all, and there would be thousands of things we would not be able to do and not have if it were not for electricity. The discovery of steam also had a huge impact on society but I don’t think that it was  quite as big. However on many occasions we use steam to power turbines to create electricity, even so  I think that electricity is still the better discovery.
