Northern Mountains comprise of the three main mountain ranges:Hindukush,the Himalayas and tha Karakoram.The Himalayas are parallel to each other in east west direction.They have pyramid or conical shaped peaks,for example,Rakaposhi.These mountains have snow capped peaks and rise in height from south to north.They have deep,steep sided and narrow valleys.

Winter is colder than Summer because the angle of the earth toward the Sun. The Earth is actually closer to the Sun during the northern Hemisphere winter but the hemisphere is angled way and gets less direct light.
