The law of conservation of energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can be converted from one form to another but the sum of all the energy in the universe is a fixed constant amount. It can never be any more or less.
Energy is what enables change. It is often defined as the ability to do work. To make work easier, we change one form of energy into another. There are many forms of energy such as light, heat and sound. But all energy has to be either kinetic or potential. The basic unit of energy is the joule.

Scientists now think they have discovered a new form of energy (they have named "dark energy"). It is supposed to have strong negative pressure and it is believed that this is what is causing the universe to expand and grow!

The Law of Conservation of Energy is, "The Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, but it can be converted from one form into another form".

Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed but it can be transfered
from one form to another form. The total amount of energy in the
universe remains the same.

The law of conservation of matter is that matter can neither be created nor destroyed

It state that energy can neither be created nor destroy but can be change from one form to another. That means that energy in the whole world is constant(fixed) it can't be changed.

The Law of Conservation of Energy means....that energy cannot be created nor destroyed and it can ONLY be converted between DIFFERENT types of energy to form a new and different energy.

Energy can never be created or destroyed. Energy can only be converted between different types. Types of energy include: Thermal, kinetic, electromagnetic radiation and potential energy.

When electricity is generated from a coal powered station the energy conversion process goes as follows:
Chemical energy inside coal -> Burned to make Heat -> boil water to make kinetic energy  -> generator makes electricity.

It states that if friction is negligible, the sum of the kinetic and potential energies of a body remains constant.
