Plants and animals provide a vast number of processes which are economically valuable. Examples of these include:
- the process of photosynthesis whereby plants produce glucose from carbon dioxide, water and light. This process regulates the quantity of oxygen in the atmosphere
- crop pollination, e.g. Bees pollinate a number of plants
