The Nervous System is responsible for the control of large scale movements as well as smaller more precise movements of the body.
The nervous system looks after many different parts of the body that all usually involve movement and other reactions. Some of these we may not even be able to see.

- Reactions and movement. The nervous system looks after the reactions that we have and the movements that we make. These can be both large movements or smaller more precise movements. These happen when the body must react to something, this is usually something that has put us in danger where we have to move. An example of this is where our hand moves away very quickly, before we even get the chance to think, when something is hot or burning us. This is the nervous system controlling our movement in a reactive way.
- The nervous system also looks after our movement in a proactive way, it helps us move our bodies at different speeds for walking, running and other types of activity. Without us acknowledging it, it can stabilize us on rocky ground by helping our balance. This is an example of how it is used in larger movements.
