A perfect competition is when a given perfectly competitive firm is unable to exert any control whatsoever over the market. The characteristics are: A large number of small firms, identical products sold by all firms, perfect resource mobility or the freedom of entry into and exit out of the industry, and perfect knowledge of prices and technology.
