There is plenty of scope to study humanities (areas of interest relating to humans and their functions). Popular humanity subjects include history, politics, anthropology and religion. Areas of study such as these reveal much about the human and how a human functions. For instance, in the area of politics we can see that humans have different opinions regarding how the world should be ran - and that fundamentally, many humans seek to act in the interest of society as a whole. In history, on the other hand, it can be seen how humans differ, and how some humans who have lived have made extraordinary achievements. History also shows how humanity has changed with the introduction of technology and even elements such as democracy.

  • History

History is one of the main humanity study subjects. Most young people at some point in their school career study history. It is highly relevant today in many fields; looking at the past can often give indicators towards the future. Most areas of history investigate varying societies and how they have changed and interacted through social revolution and war. It also looks at how people used to live and what values were once important.

  • Geography

Although geography has various scientific elements, it is widely regarded as a humanities subject. This is due to the fact it studies how people live in different areas of the world, and how cultures vary due to natural surroundings and resources.  Geography shows that humans have the ability to live in a range of climates and geographical settings, from Arctic dwellings to mountains to deserts.

  • Religion

The study of different religions shows that many humans from a range of cultures believe in a greater being, despite evidence for such an existence being limited. Religion shows that those of the human race have faith and are widely influenced by the beliefs of others around them.
