The Great lakes basically refer to a series of Fresh water lakes which are located in Eastern North America, along the border to United States and Canada. It consists of the following lakes:
- Lakes Superior
- Lake Michigan
- Lake Huron
- Lake Erie
- Lake Erie

Four of these lakes are located on the Canada and United States Border. They are bounded by Ontario Province of Canada and U.S states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. Lake Michigan is located completely within the United States. So we can say that it is the only one of the Great Lakes that is completely outside of Canada.
