The famously bad-tempered Newton certainly never married and was rarely seen in the company of women. This has led to speculation that he was both homosexual and a virgin. We will never know for sure, nor is it important. The Newtonian view of the physical universe was revolutionary in its day and lasted until the advent of relativity. Even so, the Newtonian model is so close to "the way things are" that it is still used as the basis of many mathematical models of the universe to this day.
