As I understand it, acceleration of gravity is a measurement of the velocity at which free-falling objects travel towards the ground when dropped from mid-air.
As they are being propelled solely by the force of gravity, it makes sense to me that the acceleration of gravity would be directly related to the size of the body in question.
So, when comparing planets for example, I'd expect Jupiter to have the highest attraction of gravity because it's size allows it to exert the highest gravitational pull.
