Belize is a country that is located in Central America and was formerly known as British Honduras. It used to be part of Mayan and the British Empire. However, it gained its independence in the year 1981.
Belize is located at the coordinates 17°15′N 88°46′W. It has Guatemala towards the south and west, Mexico towards the north and Caribbean Sea towards the east. In fact it is located at the Caribbean coast of Northern central America.
